What the community brought with it
The Foundation is newly formed. These figures come from the South Florida Overlanders community that created it, and they are checkable: the routes are published, the videos are public, the events happened.
The dashboard
What the Foundation will report
These are the measures the Foundation commits to publishing, updated as programs run. Anything not yet recorded says so rather than showing a zero, because a zero reads as a result and this is an absence of one.
Why an empty dashboard is still worth publishing. It commits the Foundation to a specific set of measures before it knows whether they will flatter it. Choosing the metrics after the fact is how organizations end up reporting whatever happened to go well.
Impact stories
What the numbers do not carry
Figures establish credibility. Stories are the reason the figures matter. Both of these are from community members, in their own words.
"I got my truck completely stuck and had to leave it overnight. The community came through. Even with rain making everything worse, they stuck with me until we finally got the truck out. Forever grateful for this amazing community."
"17 rigs and 25 passionate souls navigated the trails, shared stories, and even held a friendly cafecito challenge in the heart of nature. The best memories are made by embracing every twist and turn along the way."
Stories we intend to be able to tell. Somebody camping for the first time. A child making their first radio contact. Volunteers filling a truck bed with what other people left behind. A newcomer learning safe recovery instead of learning it the expensive way. These get published as they happen, with permission, and never invented in advance.
Funders and agencies, talk to us early
Program documentation, budgets and references are available on request. If your organization funds outdoor access, environmental education, youth engagement or community resilience in South Florida, we would rather scope a program with you than send you a brochure.
