Come for the day, stay for the weekend
Foundation events are free, family friendly and capped in size to protect the land. Registration is first come, first served, and first timers are the point rather than a problem.
2026 to 2027 season calendar in progress. Dates are being confirmed with land managers and partner organizations now. Announcements go out first on Instagram with dates, meeting coordinates and current trail conditions. To be told directly, send us a note.

Six kinds of day out
Trail rides and expeditions
Guided convoys through legal public trails at a family pace, from half day outings to multi day expeditions.
Skills workshops
Recovery, navigation, trip planning, camp craft, radio communications and preparedness. Beginner sessions assume nothing.
Cleanups and trail work
Half day projects on the lands we use, run with the agencies that manage them. Documented and published afterwards.
Meetups and cookouts
Low commitment gatherings where you can meet the community, look at other people's setups and ask every question you have.
Family outdoor days
Built around kids and first timers. Short distances, easy terrain, Junior Explorer activities and an early finish.
Community service
Supply drives, fundraising events and hands on support for the nonprofits and rescue organizations we partner with.
The format
What a Foundation meetup looks like
Morning briefing
Route plan, radio channels, recovery order and trail etiquette. Anyone new gets paired with an experienced spotter before we move.
Midday, the outing
A guided convoy through public trails at a pace set by the least experienced vehicle. Nobody gets dropped, nobody gets left stuck.
Afternoon, camp
Cookout lunch, radio activations, kids activities and equipment show and tell. This is where most of the actual teaching happens.
Optional overnight
Where the site allows it and registration was arranged in advance, vehicles stay for campfire conversation under genuinely dark skies.
Group sizes are capped on purpose. Camping at preserve events is limited, twelve vehicles at our Big Cypress meetup, with advance registration required. Day visitors are always welcome. Twelve vehicles is a convoy. Thirty is a problem for the land and for the people who let us use it.

The Foundation is new, but the outings behind it are documented. These are real events, with real turnout, run by the community that formed the organization.

Big Cypress family meetup
A full family meetup at Pinecrest Group Campground with guided rides, Parks on the Air radio activations, cookout lunch, kids activities and overnight camping for twelve registered vehicles, hosted with the South Dade GMRS Club. Read the full event record.

The Georgia Traverse
Nine vehicles and fourteen people crossed the North Georgia mountains: creek crossings, mountain camps and the campfire conversations that became one of the community's most watched video series.

Okaloacoochee Slough meetup
A convoy through one of the wildest sloughs in South Florida, documented from the air by Aerial Recon Media.
Summer 2025 · Charlotte County
Yucca Pens WMA rides 1.0 and 2.0
The largest turnout so far: seventeen vehicles and twenty five people through pine flatwoods and water crossings, plus a friendly cafecito challenge in the middle of nowhere.
June 2025 · Palm Beach County
J.W. Corbett WMA meetup
A day of exploration and lunch with friends from GP Overlanding, Miami Overland and the wider South Florida Overlanders crew.
